I wanted to start by introducing myself and telling you why I decided to blog. I do not consider myself a blogging type. However as I talk to the patients that come to see me, I am aware how much we rely on the internet for information. I envision this as forum for both current and potential patients to find out about what I believe about healthcare, not from a policy perspective, but what I believe my individual patients should be doing about their personal healthcare. I believe that every person has the ability to improve their current state of health, well being and as a result improve their quality of life.
I am a chiropractic physician who has been in practice since 1999. I practice at Advanced Physical Medicine & Therapy in Mt. Prospect. The favorite part of my work is developing relationships not just with individuals, but with whole families and seeing the change and growth of these families over time. I am continually amazed and humbled by the dedication that many patients show to improving their health. I have seen adults, never physically active before, train and compete in their first race. I have seen patients dedicated to completing a physical therapy program to reduce chronic pain. The stamina and determination of these outstanding individuals bring such joy to my practice of chiropractic medicine.
Personally, I am a driven and dedicated person, you can call me a classic type A personality. I am married with three children—all of whom amaze me on a daily basis. I am a physically active person, one of my greatest stress relievers is running and resistance training. I have completed marathons and triathlons and am training for my first Olympic distance triathlon this summer.
I believe there are many changes we can all make to improve our health. Some of these changes are simple, some are difficult, but all will improve your life. I would never ask a patient to do something I would not be willing to do myself. Join me as we start or continue a journey to a healthy you.
