Vijay Patel, D.C.
Dr. Vijay Patel is passionate about improving patients’ lives. Chiropractic philosophy is all about wellness and prevention and he is committed to empowering patients to achieve optimal wellness. He particularly enjoys working with pediatric and sports medicine populations.
Dr. Patel first became interested in chiropractic as a teenager, when overcoming shin splints. Conventional medicine failed to help. His first chiropractic visits allowed him to return to running, a sport he loves. He still runs competitively and has helped hundreds of patients achieve the same, many of whom were told by conventional medical practitioners to take up another sport or hobby.
Dr. Patel has been a practicing chiropractor at Advanced Physical Medicine and Therapy in Mt Prospect since 1999. Dr. Vijay Patel earned his doctorate in Chiropractic from National University of Health Sciences in Lombard, Illinois.
A leader in the chiropractic profession, Dr. Patel currently serves as the secretary of the Illinois Chiropractic Society. Since 2011, he actively lobbies to increase access to chiropractic care both in the state of Illinois and nationally. He is a frequent contributor to ICS Journal, educating chiropractic colleagues regarding neurology. Dr. Patel is on staff at Alexian Brothers Medical Center. He is also a member of both the National College of Chiropractic Alumni Association and the American Chiropractic Association.
Always committed to continuing his education Dr. Patel is board certified in electro-diagnostics by the American Chiropractic Neurology Board. In addition, Dr. Patel has completed his certifications in acupuncture, First Line Therapy and is a Certified Postural Exercise Professional. He is currently studying for his diplomate in chiropractic orthopedics.
In his free time, Dr. Patel enjoys spending quality time enjoying the outdoors and traveling with his family, training for triathlons and strength training. He recently completed his first Ragnar Trail Relay and has a second one on his schedule. A Blackhawks fan, he has also volunteered as youth house league coach at Glenview Ice Center for the past 8 years. He currently plays hockey in an adult league.
Dr. Patel is fluent in Gujarati and has a working knowledge of Spanish.
Timothy Kolbaba D.C.
Dr. Timothy Kolbaba is motivated by helping patients with health conditions that are preventing them from being the best possible version of themselves. He truly believes that life without pain is possible and we do not have to be limited by health conditions. Watching patients go through a healthy transformation and to have a role in catalyzing this change is awe inspiring!
Dr. Kolbaba grew up in a family filled with chiropractors. Due to spinal injuries during his United States Marine Corps training, he has experienced first hand how chiropractic allows him to live an active, pain free life.
Dr. Kolbaba has earned numerous degrees including Bachelor’s degrees in Biochemistry, Biology, and Human Anatomy, a Master’s degree in Human Anatomy, and a Doctor of Chiropractic from the prestigious National University of Health Sciences.
Dr. Kolbaba has certifications in Power Play in Sports concussion and prevention certification, Physiotherapy, First Line Therapy, and is a Certified Posture Exercise Professional.
Dr. Kolbaba believes in the treatment of the body using chiropractic techniques and conservative methods to aid the body in healing itself. Dr. Kolbaba specializes in the treatment of pain that is due to abnormal joint biomechanics that is neurological and musculoskeletal in origin. Dr. Kolbaba has an arsenal of techniques he uses to get patients better such as Diversified Chiropractic therapy, physical therapy, rehabilitation, Graston, activator method, and kinesio-taping. He provides detoxification programs, nutritional counseling and supplementation.
In his free time, Dr. Kolbaba volunteers at Lamb’s Farm, Feed My Starving Children, the Harvest Bible Chapel and Zion Christian Church. He enjoys motorcycles and road trips exploring our beautiful country. He loves time with his family. Dr. Kolbaba can frequently be found at the gym on his lunch hour, keeping fit with the other APMT staff.
Dr. Kolbaba also served in the military, flying CH53E Super Stallion helicopters for the United States Marine Corps. After his active duty, Dr. Kolbaba served in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves.
